Király Márton
Király Márton is a bit of everything. On one hand, he hopes to finish his serious scientific studies of food technology at Wageningen University and Research, but on the other hand, he loves "pointless" goofy dramas, acting, and performing. He loves sitting home, reading sci-fi and fantasy trivia for hours, but also cannot exist without working out every day or going to wild parties every now and then.
He got his start in public speaking at the age of 14 by competing in the Hungarian round of the International Public Speaking Competition, organized by the English Speaking Union. After some admirable, but admittedly not fully realized attempts, he eventually won the national round of the competition, which was a huge deal for him back then, and honestly still is a huge deal for him now. Due to this win, his opportunities exploded, he was invited to international competitions and events where he learned a tremendous amount from other wonderful competitors and coaches. And being in this world, he eventually was asked to judge and coach other speakers which was an incredible honor and just an overall fun and educational experience.
When he moved to the Netherlands, much of this network was less available to him, so he joined Toastmasters Wageningen, a local public speaking club because he just missed public speaking. He struggled a bit with the suddenly less cut-throat environment, but he quickly grew fond of the club, and he is currently the President of it. (And Toastmasters International still has yearly competitions, so he still has an outlet to shine). He got in contact with TEDxWageningenUniversity via Toastmasters, originally as a representative of the local club, and later as an independent individual. Coaching people for the TEDx event is really a pleasure for him from a professional and personal point of view because they almost always are exciting people with a good cause, who have great speaking skills that can be refined to being wonderful.
As someone who absolutely doesn't sleep enough, he has a lot of free time and is happy to help anyone with a public speaking project. Bonus points if the person can decipher what his accent is; because after living and being all over the world, at this point it is a linguistic and medical mystery.
